July 12, 1740 became a historic date for the institution of the Child of God. Sixteen people entered the convent, without habit, under the direction of the Mother Regent, D. Clara de Jesus Maria. These blesseds received, the following week, on June 18th, the habit of nun. Later, these gathered were integrated into the Third Order, starting to wear the habit of the primitive order of St. Francis. The last congregant or blessed of this Recollection was D. Filomena da Luz Vale. He died in his religious community on December 25, 1948.
