Paintings and niche of the body of the Church

Audio Description 00:00 00:00

In the body of the Church, on the Gospel side, we find two paintings on a board, dating from the 16th or 17th century. One represents the Annunciation of the angel Gabriel to the Virgin Mary.

The other painting represents the Baptism of Jesus Christ, who appears with his feet in the water, in a river.

Still on the wall on the Gospel side, in the background, there is a niche carved and decorated in gold with plant motifs with images of S. António and Nossa Senhora da Conceição. This niche dates back to the 19th or 20th century.
