The Church of the Child God (interior)

The Church is a simple temple, with a single nave, with two altars on the facade of the crossing arch, in addition to the main altar, dating from the second half of the 18th century.

Initially, when the church was blessed in 1733, the image of the Child God, the titleholder of the house, was venerated on the main altar, while the side altars did not yet have titles or saints to whom they were dedicated. Between September and October 1755, improvement work was carried out on the altarpiece of the chancel of the church of this Recolhimento, which included the dressing room, the ceiling, and the stairs from the upper house to the tribune, where the Blessed Sacrament is exposed, as well as on two valances for the chapel's windows. The work was carried out by the famous carver from Braga, José Álvares de Araújo, for a cost of 200$000 réis.
